Late to the party, but the sure-fire way to confirm which engine is fitted is to check what is stamped on to the front of the engine block. IIRC it's on the front right side of the engine (when stood in front of the car, looking in to the bay), where the cylinder head meets the block. Will probably be grubby, but a wipe with a damp tissue should clear it up enough to read; 4E will be a 1.3L and 5E will be a 1.5L.
